it sounds like the lead is off by a little, but its hard to tell without the vox in place
ok. ill keep nudging.
I cant tell if it needs to go forward or back, I do know the last notes align with the my hook track.
in fact, when I downloaded my 3 tracks, all 3 were exactly the same length, I moved all three
to the same exact position on the daw grid.
(yes I even downloaded my own to check)
then I just cut off the intro drum parts by selecting all three and made a single cut/mute
ok that should make it easier then. what do you think of the levels?
I might do a little fader riding/automation in a couple spots so the hook parts come up by bringing walts guitars
down by 2 dbs at the hook spots, other than that I like it a lot.
the other thing I did was to put some rotor FX on the organ (trying to mimic a stereo leslie cab) for 2 reasons,
1, to open the center a little more for the main vox
2, it just sounded cool
but shouldn't tell you that..LOL
you are making your mix not mine.
I am listening on commercial phones at the moment, I wont be back in the studio till Sunday
so I cant really make a detailed listen atm.
it does translate very well on these phones though and sounds great.
what are you using?
I use ozone ....and beer.
(the phones on my head are cheap grado sr 60 e)
Yeah i heard the piano in your mix. it was trippy. I have the behringer B2031a monitors. And the akg K701 headphones. I run pro-tools 12 with a lot of plugins. I have a Waves bundle I really like to use.
those are nice cans!
sunnhieser hd-600, akg 240, these grado's, rokit 8's,
mostly slate and presonus plugs on my end.
the ozone is just the cheap bastard edition.
I gotta crash, catch ya on the flip.
I like them. But with any headphones, my ears get fatigued fast so I have to use them sparingly. I thought about getting those rockits. People seem to like them a lot. I'm not a behringer fan at all, but they did something amazing with these monitors. The plugins I got lucky when they went to aax, I got to upgrade them for free. Otherwise I would be going back to my physical rack system. Which I may pull out again someday.
rokits are just ok, they are better suited for edm so I have read.
I just seen your in Rockford, tough biker town, I met Rick Nielsen at the Byron track
last time I was up that way.
yeah good ole rock bottom. cheap trick are not shy around here. Ive done live sound for a couple of their kids bands. I see your in chicago. I work in chicago. i deliver deans milk to all the grocery stores in the city via 18 wheeler.
tough gig driving a big truck in the city.
may you push the shoulder riders (after the merge) off the expressway.
