With new piano seps.
Thanks Steffen, you did good things .
That´s my opinion:
I love how drum sound (maybe just a little softer)
I like the Lead guitar.
I think the bass can be bigger and deeper .
I would like more a natural sound to the piano and rhythm guitar (more volume to this guitar).
I don´t understand the lef hand hand in the electric piano ( I like the original sound I used, maybe can you let it in a similar way).
What do you think guys?
I'm not sure that I understand exactly what you want me to do Jorge.
Bring up the bass even more - ok, I can do that (even though I don't think it will sound good, but that's just my personal taste).
Softer drum sound? I think the drums are already very low key in this mix. Do you want them to be even lower in volume?
No idea what you mean regarding the e-piano. Can you try to be more precise? What kind of character are you looking for? More Rhodes, more Wurlitzer, or more digital?
I don´t have any problem with drum, lead guitar and bass, what I said it´s only what I think would better (each head is diferent), but I ´m ok with this(what you did), I really like it.
What would be important to me is the sound of the piano and rhythm guitar, I find them to electronic.
What I said obout the epiano it´s not a big thing, I can listen the melody very good (rigth hand) but I don´t understand the chords (left hand), I like this harmonies maybe I miss then a little, but it´s not a big thing.
I would like to know what the other guys thinks.
I think it sounds great. I can always go for more bass though :)
Wow.. sounds great :D
Jorge, I think I know what you mean regarding the guitar - it has a heavy phaser effect, which I think is necessary, but perhaps it will still fulfill its purpose if I back it off a tad. That way the guitar will automatically be more defined.
The pianos have been processed to fit better in the context of the whole mix/arrangement, but I'll do a test with a less processed sound to see how far I can go with that. I never process anything that heavily without a good reason, and in this case the reason was that a lot of sounds and melodies compete with each other in this song, so I decided to push the offending parts back in the mix by giving them a more diffuse sound. Works for me, but there may be better solutions that I can try.
As for the bass: I will try an alternative mix with the bass more in the face, but I don't see how that can actually work. That's not to say that it won't sound good to anybody else; I may be the only person on the whole planet who won't like it that way. The point is, if I do something I cannot identify with, I cannot guarantee that the mix as a whole will work anymore, because it will always sound wrong to ME. It's like being blindfolded and painting by instructions - if that makes sense. I may still be able to do the "right" strokes, but I will have no control of it, as it does not match my own vision of the song.
Let me see what I can do ... :)
