Creative Brief

A lyric that was inspired by the famous Beatles song 'Eleanor Rigby'.

I see the intro as being very gentle. Softly sung with minimal musical accompaniment. Maybe just something like strings or piano? Then, the music kind of launches when verse 1 comes in. Probably acoustic guitar at that point.

For style, I can see it as singer songwriter. I think piano and acoustic guitar would probably be the main instruments and it's a reflective song but with a chorus that is more upbeat than the verses. And I thought the choruses could progressively rise towards the end with more singers being brought in until you almost have a choir of people singing it. Possibly a bit ambitious to achieve but that was the vision!

Love lives

(Intro)

From Suicide Leap..
I view a sea of emptiness...
Grey in its pallor...
Endless in its vastness...
And I think

(Verse 1)
You don't have to be like Eleanor Rigby
You don't have to die alone
Uncherished and unmourned,
You don't have to be always lonely
End just a name on a stone
Cold granite unadorned

Cos

(Chorus)
Love lives
Life loves
It finds its way,
It may not seem like it
But it's got time for
waifs and strays

(Verse 2)
You don't have to be unfeasibly pretty
You don't have to live alone
Locked in a jail of your own,
You don't have to be always lonely
There's nothing for you to atone
He's just at the end of a phone

Cos

(Chorus)
Love lives
Life loves
It finds its way,
It may not seem like it
But it's got time for
waifs and strays

(Bridge)
She retrieves a phone number from the bread bin
And gently taps all the digits in
His voice cuts through the pregnant silence
It's a start and all starts find a way

(Chorus) x 1 voice
Love lives
Life loves
It finds its way,
It may not seem like it
But it's got time for
waifs and strays

(Chorus) x 2 voices (male plus female)

Love lives
Life loves
It finds its way,
It may not seem like it
But it's got time for
waifs and strays

(Chorus) x multiple voices

Love lives
Life loves
It finds its way,
It may not seem like it
But it's got time for
waifs and strays
