Okay. so, with a new scheme on the verses, Now, Do think of the first verse as the right one when it comes to those backing vocals. I fucked up some timing somewhere somehow on the other ones. Or my brain is just tired. Not sure. Have to check on that. But this is the idea. I think it opens up a bit of space. I also muted some of the doubled phrases that I feel made it a bit muddy. A mix issue to be sure, but still. This feels better. I rewrote the final verse. . the eve.

This is so badass! I agree with you on the first verse backing vocals, you nailed on that one. The others do sound a little off but its nothing drastic and I am not sure I would have focused on it if you'd not mentioned it. The whole thing feels a little open now too.

:D Thanks guys. It feels right, this. I'll work on getting it all tighter. the backing vox. I think it's simply a matter of mostly recording latency . I do have to think about that in my setup. In a project with ten plus vocal tracks... well, it's tough on my machine. For critical tracking I have to be in low latency mode, which stops that, but I tend to forget when inspiration hits. :D The bridge voice stuff. No clever Galaxy destroyer quotes have come to mind, but I'll brainstorm on that. any suggestions would be great! I have not read Lovecraft much recently but I suspect it could be good food for insane prose. . :D

Ok great. I will see what I can dig up as examples. I am also going to check in the book Weaveworld where the Scourge reveals itself. I remember it being pretty cool.

Here is an excerpt from Weaveworld: http://www.e-reading.club/chapter.php/72249/14/Barker_-_Weave_World.html "It was as tall as the canopy; twenty-five feet or more, its long, bone-white head brushing the branches, sand-petals spiralling down. Though it still howled, it lacked a mouth, or indeed any feature on its face but eyes, which it had in terrifying numbers, twin rows of lidless, lashless slits which ran down each side of its head. There were perhaps a hundred eyes in all, but staring an age at it would not have revealed their true number, for the thing, despite its solidity, defied fixing. Were those wheels that moved at its heart, tied with lines of liquid fire to a hundred other geometries which informed the air it occupied? Did innumerable wings beat at its perimeters, and light burn in its bowels, as though it had swallowed stars? Nothing was certain. In one breath it seemed to be enclosed in a matrix of darting light, like scaffolding struck by lightning; in the next the pattern became flame confetti, which swarmed at its extremities before it was snatched away. One moment, ether; the next, juggernaut. And then, as suddenly as it had begun, the wail it was unleashing died away. The Scourge stopped moving."

Way cool. Now that's some nice imagery right there. I love the concept of swallowing the stars, The never ending hunger etc etc. Hmm.
