There is a flower in Montana called a Bitterroot which comes out in the Spring. It hugs the ground closely and is probably one of the first to emerge after the ground thaws. When you come out of the cold of Winter and see a Bitterroot flower, you have hopes for the warmth of Spring being on its way. 

Although I've completed this song with acoustic guitar solos, I would be more than happy to include other instruments and in place of some of my guitar. Looking for acoustic instruments only, no midi please. This in a Bluegrass song in the key of Dm
