Ah, the Dark Tower saga. It is weighing down my bookshelf as well. Great read (well, most of the books are, but I also remember not liking some of them as much as the others). Anyway, I gave it a try with some keys. Since the track is already quite busy, I don't think it needs much, key-wise, so I added just a soft string pad and a female voice to give it a kinda Morricone-ish touch :-) Hope you like it.

It's kind of funny, I was just (re)listening to this thing when I got the e-mail notification that you had uploaded some files for it. And, yeah, the series was kind of uneven over the 30 or so years King took to write it; I'd always resisted reading it, even though I've always been a big fan of his, because I just don't really get much into fantasy, but I have to say, overall, I loved it (especially the ending, which I understand a lot of folks hated, but I agree with sai KIng- it was the only one possible). Anyway...thanks for these. I'll get them downloaded and mixed in as soon as I can, see how they work. I do like the idea of the Morricone-ish voice for the song, can't wait to see how that turns out. Might be a bit, though- my wife has stuff for us to do today. (Including going to see the "Downton Abbey" movie- I liked the series ok, but I'd rather go see "It." My wife has said quite firmly that if I want to see that movie, I'll be seeing it by myself, so...) Thanks again for these, I'll get to them ASAP. Also, I re-did the mix for "Abandoned"- still not a good mix, but better than it was, I think. Let me know your thoughts. Faron

Just real quick...I dropped those files into my Reaper mix, and on a very quick-and-dirty listen, I think they're going to work really well, just adding a great little ambience without overwhelming the feel of the song (when I first came up with it, I thought, "oh, this sounds like a western movie theme," and happened to have been reading the books then, so...). I'll work some more on it later, and submit a mix, get your feedback. I think I'm going to end up cutting back on...something, not sure what- there's something there that's just too MUCH there. I guess I'll figure it out. If you have any ideas, be sure to let me know- your instincts were surely right on for this tune. Thanks, Faron
