Your original strings arrangement through the Vienna Symphonic Library instruments and Roland SRV 3D Hall reverb.

That sounds beautiful, Nigel. Will look forward to hearing this with the rest.

Sounds already much more impressive than my attempt! Hearing it on its own I notice some wrong notes which I didn't really ear before :) Could you please upload separate tracks and w/o reverb? Thank you very much!

I noticed something: your render seems to be all in the same tempo. The MIDI contains several tempo changes. I don't know which DAW you use and how it interprets tempo changes, but you might need to disable fixed tempo or so.

The tempo changes were in the file and recognised so it should be OK. But I'll double check.

Yes, the tempo changes are all taking place. 11 changes: 79.94-80.00-78.00-57.00-72.00-74.00-72.00-70.00-66.00-78.00-76.00-74.00. The gear I use only allows one tempo change per bar. The time signature reads as 2/4.

thanks for checking, maybe i didn't listen correctly. 2/4 is correct and the changes you listed seem OK. Thanks!

Remember that the natural attack of the instruments may be slower than the sounds you used. So you may have to bring them in earlier for them to be in time.
