Nice ;-) I will re-sing the vocal if we get a new song structure in place - Now I can hear the lead etc in the mix I will be able to give it more feeling and let go a bit more. Also that vocal was recorded using the inbuilt condenser mic on the spire Studio, I'm hoping to have a better AKG vocal mic delivered by the end of today. Really enjoying this process, I can see I'll be looking for collaborations soon!
GREAT! Do you want a backing track with only the guitars added?
Yeah that would be good thanks Tommy
Dave - how do you like the Spire? I've been following that since it's beta and was hoping someone here would end up using it.
Hi Billy, well what can I say about the Spire? It's quite simply brilliant! As a songwriters tool nothing gets close! If it's good enough for Pete Townshend it's good enough for me! VERY intuitive with only 3 buttons to work and the soundcheck feature automatically sets gains so no distortion - even an old duffer like me with minimal recording experience can get a result out of it. Small and portable - take it anywhere. Built in modelling amps, 2 inputs for balanced unbalanced instruments and mics and 48v phantom power. All running on a battery for up to 4 hours?! Mix on your Apple or android phone or tablet then using onboard network NOT bluetooth upload to the cloud. Download into your DAW. The built in condenser LOOKS like a joke right but you can make your mind up by clicking the link in this post, the example there is the spire inbuilt mic with added verb again from the spire. I have to tell you I'm a powerful singer and I was about 2ft from the spire singing at full power. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g7OsEwTDJE&t=98s
These were made using the Spire and a backing track - recorded then verb added in Cakewalk. It's a demo for my act as a wedding/function singer. I suspect the second track will be moreyour thing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfPaDmVNj2Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DguZKcNG__c
This is a really cool thing, I will recommend the Spire to my Son. :) it sounds Amazing! Tom
I have a friend who despite my recommendation on the Spire recently bought a Tascam 8 track. Now he's struggling to get a decent song recorded. The Spire is phenomenal - it does everything including drop ins etc. I really recommend it to ANYONE noob or Pro alike - it makes recording so easy that you can get on with making the music instead of worrying about the tech. When I get home from work I will upload some seps of guitars recorded using the inputs on the rear.
