Gents. I'm not having any luck trying to see how these lyrics fit the song structure I've listed below. Help me understand what goes where and I'll try to put them together for you. Thanks. Intro(10 bars) 0 - 0:20 A Part (12 bars) 0:21 - 0:44 2 bar turnaround 0:44 - 0:49 B Part (16 bars) 0:49 - 1:21 2 bar turnaround 1:21 - 1:24 Guitar solo over intro (10 bars): 1:24 - 1:44 A Part (12 bars) 1:44 - 2:09 2 bar turnaround 2:09 - 2:13 B Part (8 bars) 2:13 - 2:28 B Part guitar solo (8 bars) 2:29 - 2:44 C Part (4 bars) guitar solo 2:44 - 2:52 A Part (8 bars) 2:52-3:09 Intro again (16 bars) 3:09 - 3:41 B Part (8 bars) 3:41 - 3:56 B Part guitar solo (24 bars) 3:56 - 4:46 End and fade 4:46 - 5:02

A + turnaround =verses B + turnaround = chorus I get a little confused reading your progression around and after the main solo after the second chorus. But when the intro returns the bridge vocals would be ideal. And the chorus should overlap with the last solo over the final B part. Hope this helps

Thanks, Tonker, that's what I would have guessed. I just can't think of a way to fit the lyrics provided, which are 8 bars at most per chorus or verse in an understandable meter, into the 14 to 18 bar verse and chorus parts of music. Sorry I couldn't be more help. It's a great song, I just can't figure out how to fit those lyrics and I'm not as good a lyricist as there are on Kompoz. I'll invite some lyricists I've worked with before if that is okay with you. Maybe they can find a better fit and then I'm happy to sing it.

Yes of course do that. And you could also talk to the author of the lyrics

Apressman, if you want to try with your own lyrics it is OK!

Apressman, there is a new contribution of lyrics under "Songwriting". Take a look and see if there is something you could work with

If you want a better fit to the music, provide me with a "vocalise" : a vocal track without words.

I'll work on a scat track. Did you see the format layout of bars and time above? While it follows a straight ABABCAB format the lengths vary (assuming we don't want vocals and guitar melody lines on top of each other.

You are right about the format. Except for the end solo. I can think of having some sort of vocal fills there, but if it does not work or sounds good its fine without.

Hi Joel - I did a piano part to give an idea of where lyrics should go and an idea of the meter and melody. I hope that gives you enough of an idea to work with. Thanks.

Will be interesting to hear the lyrics and vocals to this new melody.
