I thought some very simple guitars would work, mainly for texture, and much quieter than I've mixed them here.
Let me know if you can use any of this.
Awesome! Thanks, Richard. I'm in a conference call until this afternoon so I can listen until then. Appreciate the time, regardless! :)
No problem. This is a very current sounding song, and I wouldn't want to drag it back a couple of decades with the wrong style of guitar! I'm not convinced mine are quite right.
Happy for you to use what works though. I'd be tempted to ditch the lead bit for a more synth based instrument in the vocal breaks for that reason. Bang some low-end club bass on it, and it could be very commercial I think?
Richard - the Rhythms are amazing, IMO! TOTALLY gives it the "pop" that was missing. I know what you are saying about the leads but if Jeff hadn't posted his version, I would have easily run with yours - they are great.
Consider this accepted by me but I'll let Abbie make final call since this is her baby.
Oh, and I mentioned this to Jeff but I think my arrangement needs work so if I make a few changes, will you be available to work with me on this going forward (provided Abbie is cool with it)?
Absolutely Rich. I'm just happy you like what I did, which to be honest was pretty quick and dirty, and didn't really achieve what I heard in my head for this when I first listened. I'd like to keep working on it.
I just listened to the guitars Jeff did which are really good with a really nice tone.
Awesome, Richard. Thanks!! yeah, the more to work with, the better. Just don't delete anything because I like making whole things out of random pieces.
Abbie, this is a fantastic song and I love your vocal, not just for the gorgeous tone in your voice, but how you deliver it with such effortless control and confidence.
It really appealed to me because it instantly reminded me of one of my favourite singer/songwriter albums. False Smiles by Amy Studt. Not sure whatever happened to her, or whether you've heard of her - but every time I hear Taylor Swift (who you say is an influence) for a moment I think it's Amy - and get a little disappointed when it's not!
Anyway, a warm welcome to Kompoz. I'm more than happy to help out on anything (if I have time - which is always the enemy)
Abbie's voice makes me think of Norah Jones. I had never heard of Amy before but I just googled her and I see what you mean. Good stuff!
Thank you so much Richard. I'm glad you like my vocals & the song. :) Thanks for your work on the guitar track. Like Rich said, I really think it creates the pop undertones that the song was missing and really adds a lot of texture--I love it! Would you mind posting your seps?
Woww!! Super gorgeous!
Thank you!! :)
Richard, you might not have seen Abbie's request got seps because of the three reply bug.
Beautiful Guitar, as always Richard :>:>:>
Sounds so good!!! Would love to work with you sometime!!! :)
