Dear Kompozers,
Question.
I have a friend who just joined Kompoz and is using a USB plug-in mic, a Shure mv5. She has a PC.
She installed reaper.
When she attempts to record on Reaper, she gets crazy feedback. Plugging hp into the mic makes it worse.
Any idea whats going on? And how to fix it?
Hugs and kisses,
XY

this is my guess,, is she using head phones? if you have your mains open it will feed back..
Maybe this can help ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XTxZDqVRSA
minime: Thanks Mini! Just watched. This looks great. We?ll try it.
What input port is she plugging it into? Is it built on audio card? She may want to access the audio options in windows for the sound card and turn off ?monitor? perhaps ?!
I don't know much about the recording end, but Reaper has a ton of useful videos - something there might help :) https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php
theother : hi, thanks for the link. I did look up help videos but couldn?t find anything. Maybe there?s something in one of these. Thanks!
Basically she needs to switch off the loudspeakers before she tries to record using her mic. The feedback she gets is created by the sound from the loudspeakers getting into her mic and then back to her DAW.
1000tracks : I thought she did. That was my guess. But I?ll get her to try again. Thanks!
