If you're collaborating on a project and you don't want your work to be used in further collaborations... as a collaboration... .. on a collaboration site... you should make that clear in the notes when you upload the file

Or Kompoz could have a lock feature? To let people lock their tracks in collaborations?

All Ideas that people create are " All Rights Reserved " and an owner of a work can at any time say that he / she wants not that this what he / she has created is used ! Also !!! If you want bring something in the Kompoz Shop and you will share the revenue equally with all the people then you should look who has do what on the track you want post in the Kompoz Shop ! Giving people 25 % for nothing is maybe not a so really good idea ! Maybe the next time you take the time to look " Who has do what " before you try to bring something in the Kompoz Shop to sell it there ? If you like i can copy the Seller Agreement here and the Original Project so that everyone can clearly see what is wrong and who has do wrong ? You should now remove my work from your Tracks and your two Spin offs like i have request ! Delete - Do something own - Collaborate - Sell but without my work please ! Thank you Carded 90 !

Don't worry, I have no desire to use anything you've made now that you've made this all so very clear, and I won't be doing so, now or in the future. Kompoz doesn't let me delete audio files from a collaboration, so take it up with them buddy.

Wrong ! Go to the tracks you have upload where my work is included ! Click on MANAGE ! Use the option " DELETE ALL VERSIONS " And Done ! Thank you !

carded09   commented 1mo+17dy ago

Perfect. I was referring to the song that was uploaded, you can simply reject the agreement, and then it will be declined.

comment.user.userName PLUS

carded09   commented 1mo+17dy ago

Becuase once a song has been uploaded to the store, they won't let me delete tracks. I'm getting a picture of a frownie face saying, it's already been uploaded to the store. Now I'd really appreciate it if you stop wasting my time with this. I'll delete everything possible with your music backtrack.

Yay it's all deleted for you. Sweet dreams Minime. :) I did like your music backing.. in the future it's not really worth it to be too uptight about who gets what as far as % splits .. or whatnot.. this is supposed to be fun.

I see you are new, but you do seem a little confused on basic creative ethics. your statement: "If you're collaborating on a project and you don't want your work to be used in further collaborations... as a collaboration... .. on a collaboration site... you should make that clear in the notes when you upload the file" Literally the opposite is true, and if you want to give blanket authorization for others to use your work in further or other collaborations, then you should state that, but otherwise it is clearly inappropriate. This is a really inclusive and sharing community, I think you'll find, but it's good to learn rather than to try to explain how it works in your first 3 weeks.

If I'm on a project and there's a request for an engineer to master a track, then I need to be able to use that track in the collaboration to master it, EQ, do other things, and If I see there's a final mix, and I master it, and someone complains, it really is a waste of my time. It'd be helpful to know if someone doesn't want their track worked on if I'm joining a collaborative project, within that collaborative project only. I don't think you understand the nature of this frustration, and you really made a mistake in suggesting I am confused on "general creative ethics."

I also think it's perfectly fine to request more communication if people are OK or NOT OK with their work being expanded upon or not. It's a perfectly legitimate request for more communication on what artists are OK with or not ok with. Attacking me and my ethical character is unreasonable, unprofessional and unnecessary.

wait im wondering what about the tos says about this stuff .. i dont think theres a "feelings" clause lets take a look partners and see..? ahh nope nothing there in fact it says this... Open Music Agreement By submitting your music to a collaboration on Kompoz, you are allowing others to build and improve upon your work. You are not giving up ownership of your music/lyrics, but are offering some rights to others under a certain set of conditions. In particular, by submitting audio files and supporting materials, you are agreeing that your music is licensed under the license agreement defined for the collaboration to which you are submitting music. Most often, this license agreement is one of the Creative Commons licenses. Further, by submitting files and supporting materials, you acknowledge that you have read the full license applicable for each collaboration to which you are contributing. By submitting your music to a collaboration on Kompoz, you grant to Kompoz the non-exclusive right, throughout the world, in perpetuity to broadcast, and exhibit your work. Furthermore, Kompoz is granted the non-exclusive right to advertise, promote and market the composition through any and all methods, means and media, whether now known or hereafter devised. You further understand and agree that the collaboration owners may release a completed mix for a collaboration, which may or may not include your contributions. If your contributions are included in a released mix, the collaboration owner will be required to provide attribution to your work. in other words .. do whatever the effffff yuk ya want.!!!!..) (thank you Hodge twins for that quote) *peace

Thanks for this smg179, In my spirit of good ethics, if someone doesn't want their work used, I won't use it. My hope is to know this ahead of time before I invest 5+ hours of my time trying to balance levels, Mix, add bells and whistles, reduce frequency masking, etc.

Agreed Wire-and-Wood. Also, spin-offs can be disabled on the collaboration, it sounds like that would have cleared a lot of this up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By submitting your music to a collaboration on Kompoz, you are allowing others to build and improve upon your work. You are not giving up ownership of your music/lyrics, but are offering some rights to others under a certain set of conditions. In particular, by submitting audio files and supporting materials, you are agreeing that your music is licensed under the license agreement defined for the collaboration to which you are submitting music. Further, by submitting files and supporting materials, you acknowledge that you have read the full license applicable for each collaboration to which you are contributing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So - By reading this i have there a question " Have you see in the last time a new Project from this Year or from the last Year with a Creative commons license ? And if so could you give a link to this Project ? If you can not - could it be so that the Licence is then " All Rights reserved " and not just most often ? Maybe in General since Kompoz 2.0 ? I am just asking maybe we all can learn something ? Or maybe but just maybe your quote " in other words .. do whatever the effffff yuk ya want.!!!!..) " is so totally wrong if you read the TOS one more time with the fact in mind that since Kompoz 2.0 all Projects use just one licence and this is the ALL RIGHTS RESERVED licence all the time and not just most often ?

comment.user.userName PLUS

carded09   commented 1mo+14dy ago

I don't even see where Kompoz let's the artist change the type of license from All Rights Reserved to creative commons or public domain. Is it glaringly obvious and I'm just missing it??? It looks like this tutorial https://www.kompoz.com/music/blog/450602 has been taken down. Did they remove this feature and forget to update the terms?

minime   commented 1mo+14dy ago

The Creative Commons license has been gone since we had an update to Kompoz 2.0 ! In Kompoz 1 we had the option to choose different CC licences for our Projects ! But Kompoz 1 is now a long long time gone and the only licence option we have is " All Rights Reserved " ! But the TOS says " you are agreeing that your music is licensed under the license agreement defined for the collaboration to which you are submitting music. " And this is ALL RIGHTS RESERVED now for many many Years ! Even the Projects that have been created at the time of Kompoz 1 under the CC licences have been all automatically updated to All Rights Reserved with the update to Kompoz 2.0.

minime   commented 1mo+14dy ago

And who is Kompoz ? I am not !!! Also giving Attribution is not enough if the Project is " ALL Rights Reserved " ! This would be only so if the Project would be posted under the CC licence as you can read in part one ! All the Projects are now ALL Rights Reserved ! It is complicated - Read back " you are agreeing that your music is licensed under the license agreement defined for the collaboration to which you are submitting music. ! This is it !
