Hello again Kompoz people... Our band, Hipknowsis, just posted an album today, "Chronicles", available for listening on pretty much all platforms. The vid here is song one "The Worm", but I posted a youtube link below that will play all 6 tracks in order. This band is Jordi Ribas(Bass, guitar, tons of other stuff), Todd Vierra(Drums) and me, Mike Patterson(vocal, lyrics). It's crazy kinds of avant garde progressive rock, with each song a bit of a story. We had this album professionally mixed by our friend and essentially part of the band, Justin Smith at www.rustyrecordings.com (on primarily analog gear... check out his site for some insanely cool gear. Justin is passionate about his analog techniques, and he loves to share), and was then mastered by Adam at Telegraph Mastering in Portland OR. I'm not asking anybody to buy, or to like or subscribe... but if you took a listen it would make my day, and I thank you sincerely. These guys are the coolest bunch you could ever hope to make music with, genuinely awesome humans. It's one of my favorite projects ever, all made right here on Kompoz, my favorite website. Thanks Mixed by Justin Smith at Rusty Recordings, Gustavus, Alaska, www.rustyrecordings.com Mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering, Portland, Oregon Cover art by my daughter, Kaia! You're top class! By the way, we did this release via CDbaby, and I created the profile and triggered the release. I have used Distrokid in the past and now have a bit of reference for comparison. If anyone is interested in my experience or opinions of either, I'd be glad to share. Thanks Ambrose!

Thanks Peter! For simplicity, I have been going to Youtube also, and it's pretty satisfying to see the cover and listen. As other services do, CDbaby populates to pretty much all the streaming sites. It's essentially permanent. Thanks for checking it out

Thank you mini! Somewhere near completion we did a zoom call and Justin was showing us around the studio. It was really clear how much he loved the gear and the processes. In other conversations, he shared some other music he has recorded and mixed, and it is varied and exceptionally good. In addition to that, he is a great musician himself... I found some of his acoustic guitar performance vids on the tube. People are so multi-talented and multi-faceted. It's awesome

Thanks Hans... I appreciate it. That's my older of two daughters. She's the inspiration for that song "favorite dream" if you remember that one. I'm definitely the lucky one in that deal

"Political Circus" is the one for me. Being a keyboard nut here, I have to say the keyboards on this album are really well done. Great job, you all.

Yeah I should more properly credit Jordi here, because he is truly the architect and the creative foundation of these songs, completely. He plays all the keys, everything really with the exception of drums and vocal. His compositions are creative and complex, and challenging! The album is mostly fantasy type stories but Political Circus is the exception. It's a favorite of mine and I really appreciate that you had a listen

Thanks Jon. Kind of cool coincidence because I heard a current song from you yesterday and then ended up watching either your tracking vid or just a performance vid on your electric kit, on youtube. It's the one where you start "Take 102, ok... I mean take 103". Very cool. You rock

That is Todd Vierra... he is here on Kompoz as bigdrums https://www.kompoz.com/music/artist/bigdrums In fact, if you look at his profile pic, I think he is likely sitting in Justins' studio hammering one out. He's a great drummer and such a cool guy. I enjoy making music with him but we also just chat a bit outside of Kompoz and music stuff.

Well you've got a good ear, but I am pretty blatant about my Mike Patton influence. I really like Mr Bungle, especially the self titled album, and this project definitely reflects that inspiration, because Jordi is very influenced by them as well. Thanks Mario!

Mr. Bungle is where it is at! That first album is great, but my favorite is California.

Sounds great on the big Tannoys Mike! Well done to all the band! Very solid sound and I love drums up front like that. PS: I would have mixed it slightly differently - no surprise we all have our little quirks and preferences :)

Thanks Nigel. Glad you listened. I know if ten people mixed this, it would sound ten different ways, which is good. Mixing is an art itself, and it?s good to have unique preferences. I always like your mixing a lot, and I like this as well.

WOW!! Serious complexity with excellent musical execution!! Whilst we are making comparisons, the baseline and structure remind me of bit of the late Chris Squire and his little band. Kudos!! Mike Patterson vocals are always #1, top shelf.
