I would call it E Minor.
Power chords really don't get that technical.
But technically, E Minor.
whats the rest of the song doing...? just wht yur doing in the chorus is not enough info.. could be G major
True but chances are good that it's Em since the root/starting chord is E.
Also, you can get away with playing an Emaj chord with Dmaj and Cmaj ("The Future in You" does this: http://https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/the-future-in-you) - I do it all the time to give it a major feel without all the happiness (or a minor feel without all the gloominess). I have no idea what that's call when you do this, though. I am musically handicapped by ignorance and bliss.
well, he did say, its "his chorus"...thats why i asked how it starts.. could start with the chorus pattern ...????
Yeah, I mean I definitely see your point but if the chorus starts with E then the chorus is in E and then if his verse starts with G then the verse is probably in G and he's making a key change into the chorus from major (verse) minor (chorus), right? Take in consideration that I'm an idiot. :)
that would fall under the first note of the section, being the key of the section, theory. how dependable is that theory?
Could be an E Minor pentatonic too!
If you add in a Eb it could be E Harmonic Minor which is a really cool key!
Always wondered, Is there such a thing as a Harmonic Minor Pentatonic scale?
my brain exploded at Eb so I'm no help with this question. :)
Thanks eden, btw guys im not asking what the key is for the whole song. Im in a different key for the verse, I know what key that's in...im asking about the chorus..
I would say E but music is weird like that. :)
Well usually a song has a key .. so its a weird question.. whats the key of the verse and chorus and bridge .. so just tell us what chords the song starts on...
