I just saw an ad from SlateDigital advertising they have a subscription plan to access all of their plugins, presets, and tutorials for $14.99/month. I dislike subscriptions, but someone else might take advantage of this. https://www.slatedigital.com/everything-bundle/?fbclid=IwAR2tVK7T_mgMkafnh2xr4kZby4gCAthu7IgRSQmvovsjDh8gZjCudaQWbMA

Does anyone know why I can only get SPDIF to work with 48KHz? I run POD HD Pro audio outs to a Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL which goes into Cubase 9.5. Tonight I connected the PODs SPDIF out to the Audiobox so that I can record a dry track along with the effected track. With all 3 components set to 44.1KHz I get Rice Crispies. When I set them all to 48KHz it works perfectly. Its not the end of the world to use 48KHz, I am just curious if there is some technical reason.

I've found this app quite helpful. It is free, but you will want to buy it to get all the benefits. less than $4 Piano Companion is a flexible chord & scale dictionary with user libraries and reverse mode. Piano Companion allows you to find a chord or scale by its name. If you don't remember what's the name of a chord or scale, it helps you to find it by keys. Piano Companion shows chord & scale notes, degrees, fingering for both hands in major and minor scales. You can listen how a scale or chord sounds. Chords could be played arpeggiated. You can see the list of compatible chords in the selected scale. The great advantage of Piano Companion is the fact that it's a growing application, so we will be glad to consider any new features which helps you to increase usability. Key features: ✓ 1500+ piano chords, up to 6th inversions ✓ 10000+ scales ✓ 12 root keys ✓ Chord Progression (chord sequencer) ✓ Circle of Fifths ✓ List of available chords in Circle of Fifths ✓ Key notations: English, Italian, Japanese, Russian, etc. ✓ Reverse chord & scale lookup ✓ Ability to display chord/scales on the staff ✓ Plays chords ✓ Plays scales ✓ Plays arpeggiated chords ✓ Audio support ✓ Relative scale suggestions ✓ Compatible scale chords ✓ Scale lookup with major & minor scale fingering ✓ Flexible chord & scale search using keyboard ✓ User libraries ✓ Ability to create custom chords for a user library ✓ Ability to create favorite scales Available for Android/Windows

Any one know much about tube amps? I have a 64' twin reverb that is having a problem. After I have been playing for a while there is a popping sound, and then the volume drops to half or less. I plan on taking it in for repair but I'd like some idea of what might happening.

I recorded in a studio last week that featured a nice collection of cabs and amps. One of the oldest pieces was a massive speaker cabinet with three motorized spinning horns near the top..ol' school FX:) Someone said David Gilmour used one on a Floyd album. wondering which 70/80s recordings might have that sound

What was Jackson Guitars thinking when they came up with DINKY?? I know it shouldn't matter at all and I should just be concerned with specs, but I just cant seem to get past the name. I cant imagine a bunch of people sitting around at a design session thinking about names for a guitar used by rock and metal players and hitting upon DINKY? and all of them just stop and say "yeah! thats the one".

I think I would like to buy a multiscale 7 string. I am not prepared to spend $1500 to $6000 which is the range I am seeing for the majority. My budget is realistically around $600 to $800. I see that both Ibanez and Jackson have a model that is around that price point. Does anyone have any experience with those models? Does anyone know of any reasonable quality models for that price from other manufacturers? As much as I'd like an Oni or a Kiesel its probably not going to ever happen.

Fellow Guitarists! Please help me out! I'm thinking of selling my Gibson Buckethead Signature Limited edition Les Paul. I received it as a gift for finishing an HR internship at Gibson Europe about 2 years ago. Basically I'm not playing this at all, because I'm struggling with the 27 inch scale length (quite a bit bigger than a standard guitar) and I usually play my ESP MH-327 LTD. That, combined with a tight financial situation led me to look at selling the Les Paul. The guitar is in excellent condition, although the headstock is slightly discolored. This model is no longer produced. Specs can be found here: This page also mentions a retail value of roughly 4300 USD. http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Buckethead-Signature-Les-Paul.aspx What price you guys think I should settle on? How much would this be worth? Really appreciate your input.
Uhh, mabey I should not listen to that stuff while doing other stuff :)) Big Baaaaa Daaaaaa Booooooom!

NEWS CATEGORY MUSIC INDUSTRY CREATED 8 NOVEMBER 2017 RIN-M: the plug-in we?ve all been waiting for Finally, it looks like someone has been paying attention. The MPG?s ?Credit Where Credit Is Due? campaign has been lobbying for better logging of production credits in downloadable digital music files for several years now, and a forward-thinking software company in Memphis has come up with something that we think has cracked it. It?s called RIN-M and it?s a simple plug-in with the file extension ?.RIN?: add it to any session on any DAW and all the right credits and metadata will be preserved all the way down the line. It?s made by Soundways Inc, an audio specialist working in recording, streaming, video gaming, consumer electronics and automotive gadgets. You can download the basic version free from www.soundways.com, or spend about $40 on a ?Pro? version. Either way, it?s easy to get on board and join the movement to establish its use as standard practice. The main points behind it are: ? The .RIN file contains the kind of liner notes you?d expect on CDs, with a rapidly growing roster of supporters including Apple, Amazon, Pandora, Spotify and over 30 others ? RIN stands for the Recording Information Notification standard, and the multi-platform RIN-M plug-in is the first product to make the addition of compatible metadata easy and convenient ? As you build a song, you enter the artist name and song title; select a profile or enter more information about participants in the session; add as many recording details as you wish; and export the RIN file with the project With 4 Million downloads already we reckon the bandwagon is well and truly rolling and well worth jumping on: more and more record producers, mastering engineers, record companies and retailers are waking up to it, and you haven?t lost anything by adding it your project now. Eventually, we hope, everyone will be using it. Check our more details at www.soundways.com
