The lyric was inspired by my wife, Kit. Bobby Watson sent me a beautiful piano ballad that I set the words to. Philippe Pansard laid down yet another wonderful bass line. Alex Zulaika added the perfect drums. Tom Henry joined in and sang the vocal with incredible heart and soul and added a solo. And Tom Hellsten made us all sound great. We hope you like it!

hello everyone,
i've been trying to hone my skills, and decided it might be beneficial to seek some advice. i just mixed this one with my latest workflows.
i realize it may be a lot to ask, since there's no reward other than hearing some of the fine musicians that are on this track.
at any rate, any feedback is welcome. perhaps it'll be just what i need to get to the next level.

i have remixed this track with considerably less compression.....
the latest version is the one in the player on this page now.
in fact (and my face is a little red here) i was using a compressor/limiter at the end of my mix buss chain that is usually set around -4db of gain reduction. i never thought to look at it, because it's usually just fine, but it was squashing at a whopping -24db of GR. that in itself was doing ridiculous things i'm sure, but i decided to move it out of the signal chain as it is designed to add loudness. i may end up putting it back in, but i'll probably try things without it for a while.

France had the awesome idea to do a dance version of this one and sang another gorgeous vocal and played the keyboard. Philippe and Brian added a wonderfully danceable bassline and drum part respectively. Brian also contributed keyboard synth, other sound FX, and mastered the song. We hope you like it!

Who knows it too? You get various vocal audio tracks from a client and you start working on them. After hours of tidying up and cutting the individual tracks, a whole working day has already passed. The next day you start to correct the pathetic howling to some extent tolerable. After another day all the vocals are ready for mixing. From here a new misery begins for the audio engineer.
In the end you have a nice sounding result and all the customer has to say is a pathetic: "well, sounds ok" and that's it. No enthusiasm, nothing.
Well, what the heck.
