I know this vid will be cringe-worthy to many pros on here, haha. And it is still rough, but when I first started out I knew NOTHING about online recording or DAW's or sync tones or dry seps or even what an interface was and how to plug it in. To look at a DAW with tracks on it was like looking at NASA's flight plans.
So I made a VERY BASIC flow for singes like me. I tried to stay in the mindset of what I would have wanted to watch. If they can do the basics, hopefully they will be encouraged enough to stay and then build on their skills by learning from all of you incredible artist!
I suggested to Raf that from the FLOW videos, we could have popups to link to the more detailed videos that you all have made and that are wonderful.

Good job, Jen. For a total beginner point of view I feel this hits the spot in many ways.
Brilliant Jen!!! Very well done!
Jen, If you would have used a song with a count in/sync and mentioned to match song and DAW BPM on it, this video would be an A+, honestly. Your voice over is extremely pleasant, you hit 98 out of 100 with this imo.
I KNOW!! I totally thought about that afterward. smh... Well, maybe we can link to your video inside my video... :/
nah, not my vid, that's more for perfection. the original kompoz vemeo vids I linked to earlier explain sync very well, I don't remember if they explain matching project BPM with the audition's DAW. but its great that you have 98% of everything condensed into a friendly and very pleasant tutorial. kudos girl!
Bingo! It is perfect intro/step by step training video for the newbie Jen!
This is AWESOME!! This is EXCATLY what we need!! By the way, you have a GREAT voice for this!! Raf - *YOU SHOULD TO PAY HER!!!!!*
Very well done Jen! Your talking voice is so nice to listen to. I especially love your accent! x
Thank you all SO much! It was hard not to trail off in details and it defiantly needs some work, but very happy that you all approve. That means a lot!! Hopefully this kind of thing will help people like me! :D Your vids were awesome! I feel like I truly know how to do a sync tone. It only took me 10 months! lol
Very good Jen, I think back to when I first found Kompoz and how long it took me to figure out the mechanics of connecting the hardware to the computer and then sorting out how to import the already recorded music into my DAW and then introducing my ideas to them. It seems to me that maybe having like three levels of instruction from how to videos might give basic entry level instructions on hardware connection to intermediate level of how to bounce a single track with sync tone, to a third and more advance level of creating a rough mix that includes the already recorded mix with one's idea added. So basically three categories .......Kompoz for beginners, level one, basic hardware/software introduction. Level two, how to record your idea and submit, which you covered. And level three which could cover a multitude advice. So if I were just now discovering Kompoz I could find out quickly what I need in the way of hardware and software to the other stages of being able to participate. So when someone finds Kompoz and thinks they would like to be a part of it, they can easily find out what the basic requirements are to get involved.
Hey Jen, When you get a chance, PM me. I would also like to say that the video that you did is great for helping new people to learn how to get the most use out of Kompoz!
