Ok, let me get something right...if i wanna record guitars at around -18 dbs with the audio interface, draf the ouput in garageband to -18 dbs, then play guitar. Then tune your input untill te levels meet your ouput bar at -18? Im still unclear how to play at -18..

Ok what do I need to do to record an acoustic guitar so it doesn't sound like crap in logic Pro X? I'm using Apogee Jam to plug my acoustic electric in but it always comes out very thin. Any help is appreciated!

Whats up guys! I know i ask a lot of questions in these forms, but they are extremely helpful as im a newb in many areas. I used to play for years, clippping and sounding like gahbage. I worked with a few dudes that say leave headroom. I have a scarlett focusrite 2i2 interface running throuh garageband. Im trying to optimize my gain so im plug and play. I usually keep my garageband gain default to 0db, them tune ,y interface knobs to just under the orange halo or u der clipping to max my gain. Any insight on optimal db levels for my electric guitar in garageband or on the interface? I dont know where to keep the levels like u pros do. Thanks for reading and considering!

Anyone have success mixing all of the tracks on their end, reuploading .wavs to kompoz only to shoot them over to the engineer for mastering? Then wiping out the originals. Sounds complex but when arranging a very specific way i think its ideal rather than writing a disertation to someone so they can mix/master properly. A dilemma i have...

Whats the order of operations when it comes to daw mixing, mastering. I wait until i get all the tracks, mix them, pan them, then get into the mastering. I recently discovered u can apply compressor, eq, and reverb to the individual track. I messed around with it on the blues track i did before mastwring but sounded like shit! Do the experts do eq and compressor individually, then on the master? Another issue im having is upon receipt of these .wavs. A lit of people record super low. I cant throw enpugh gain on em to get them up to my recordings. I record right under clipping in the yellow. Thoughts are more than welcome on any of the above.

To anyone whom plays via an audio interface like the scarlett 2i2. Is it just impossible to swell the guitar(volume) when plugged into these or does mine just suk?

Is there a way to get LPX to create a drum track based on an audio track? I thought I heard mention of it being done....

I'm using Logic Express 9 --is there any way I can use MIDI or a VST instrument to get the sounds of a guitar strumming-I'm trying to be a guitarist without a guitar to get ideas across? Thanks Buck
