I should have vocal tracks coming soon so I would like to bring a drummer in as well. I like the midi drums but, I think the right drummer could add more feel than a midi track.

Hi, I am willing to take a pass at this with drums if you want. I not a big metal drummer, but I can hear some things in here I can bring to it. Depends on how much you want the real drums to copy similar to what you have in there now, or if you are okay with it possibly being different. I am not offended if you would rather it be something I can't do well. I would rather you have what you want. Just let me know. Tony

I'm open to any interpretation as long as it flows with the song. I'll try to get a drumless mix up soon. thanks for your interest.

sounds good. I like playing on hard hitting songs. If you have something with vocals it would be even better for me. As usual for drummers, I tend to like to hear at least a scratch vocal part so I know how to best play off the phrasing and energy of the melody/vocal lines. Let me know if that is possible. I will check back in next couple of days to see if you have a drum less version up.

understandable. If you go to my song page you can listen to the demo vox sent to me from Ash. He will be doing vox for this tune. He will usually send lots of vocal tracks that I will need to sift through and arrange. this take time for me but you could also check his recent calabs to get a feel for whats to come. Or you could wait for the finished vox but, It will be awhile before there up. If you feel better waiting for the vocal track, no problem. I'm in no rush. Thanks for your interest.

I just got a drum audition for Terribly Attractive that will be hard for me to pass on. Before you spend to much more of your time on this maybe give it a listen. I'm more than happy to hear your audition if you still want a go at it. I do have other songs that could use better drums than my EzDrummer program. If you like them.

Hey. can't tell for sure if you are talking to me or someone else, as I can't figure how this messaging portion places answers to questions in odd orders. But, either way, I think if you have something submitted that you really like, go with it for sure. Again, speaking for myself, it would have been a long shot for me on a metal song anyway. Not only parts, but the sound you probably want. Tuning, miking and effecting are quite different for drums in metal bands, and it isn't something I am confident in doing. Take all that for what it is worth :)

Oh, and I am happy to take a look at any songs you want drums on in the future, so just let me know if you think there is something I can help with :) Tony

This is right up my alley. Currently I'm finishing up my home studio to record acoustic drums. I may not have it up in time for this tune, but I am interested in what you have coming down the pike. Marty

Don't worry bro! this will be a slow process. I would like to take my time and get things just right. I know the vocals will take some time so I'm in no rush at all.

Thanks, I will check it out :) You can hear me playing some funk on Docdafunk's "Funk Jam" if you want to hear a sample of my playing on here. It is a rough mix just to get some ideas out, but it is me playing.

Thanks :) Funk and Prog are more my style really. But, I am more than happy to take a swing at your metal song. Someone that is a true metal drummer might do a better job for you, so we will see hahaha.

maybe...maybe not. A true test to a musician is to cross genre's to see if they can still compliment a song outside of there comfort zone. I've been trying to do this on Kompoz with some success. Metal doesn't get as much respect on this site as other genre's. There are some hardcore musicians here that don't see metal as music. I have a hard time drawing interest to my heavy style. I'm just glad you don't hear noise when you listen to my tracks. Thanks!

yes, I get that about crossing styles. I have always enjoyed quite a variety of musical styles and like playing in different styles too. Sometimes I am more successful than others haha. I actually like heavy music. I tend towards heavier sounding music in general. I have never been a metal fan, but I enjoy some metal I have heard. As in any style of music, there is good music in all styles. There is also a lot of not good music in every style haha. Just have to look for the good stuff. One of my favorite bands that tends to fall in the metal category is Opeth. But, I really only listen to their melodic albums. But, those tend to be heavy too, so I like that. I also like a lot of their other albums, but don't enjoy the growl vocals on those, so tend not to listen to them, even though I like the musical style.

Yeah! I totally understand the Harsh growly vocal thing. A past drummer of mine was pushing Lamb of God on me and I really liked the guitar work but couldn't get past the harsh vocals. it just sounded like random screaming to me that took away from the music. My wife hated to hear it in my truck. it upset her for some reason. over time I found myself understanding and singing with the lyrics. To me metal music will provoke a response faster than any other genre. good or bad you'll have an opinion within the first 5 seconds of the tune. That's pretty powerful in my opinion. But I'm a fan of aggressive music.

Yes, the harsh vocal growl music just isn't for me. But, that is too bad, as I really enjoy some of the music that goes along with it. If you are not familiar with the group Opeth out of Sweden, they are quite good. Several of their albums are very melodic with no growls and are good music. I have heard some of their other albums which also have some really good music, but i can't listen to them because of the growls. Good group overall though.
