I was looking for something to improve my lead sound. A friend recommended the Archetype: Plini from Neural DSP. I tried out the demo and it sounded fantastic. https://neuraldsp.com/products/archetype-plini

Do you have any examples of your current `Lead Sound` on the site? I am never satisfied with my lead sound but I am happy to try and give you some advice if you want.

I should start by saying I just started doing leads and melodies, mostly I just play rhythm. So all this is pretty new to me. The current sound is from a POD HD Pro. The model is the Divide 9/15 Pre and Celestian 1x12. The chain is a tube drive, tube echo, and a plate verb. The new sound is the Plini amp plugin. I just used a preset called Electric Sunrise. This is the song: https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/987055/file/1022319/17 Version 18 has the new sound. Version 17 has the old sound. These parts use the lead tone. The tremelo and melody in the opening part of the song The arpeggio at 2:10 The lead and outro at 7:50

I use the Plini. I'm still trying to dial in my tone too. Been at it for 20÷ years lol. The Plini has some super lush clean tones. Also has some great crunch. Honestly, I think it's extremely versatile and you'll have no problem getting a great lead using it. I get some good lead tones from it in my own opinion. I'm just too damn picky:) If you're set on Neural DSP, I tried all of them before purchasing, and for me, Plini had the most bang for the buck.

I use the Fortin Nameless for my rhythm tones. Its got a really nice crunch. I've used it on the last 3 songs I've done and I am hooked.

if u ever want to feel better bout your lead sound just listen to mine.. lol I hang 2 lipstick size condenser mics over the front of a tubeworks amp(the rotten version after Mercedes Bends bought Tubeworks out and put junk in them) into a cheapo M Audio) not good!

I dig the leads you've done for me though. They've always sounded great. Mother of Horus came out awesome.

Started reading bout em and found out a car company bought them..so i opened them both up/my below 32 degrees melt job and the new pawn shop job.. My preferred lead sound is pentode gain stage. No vst can simulate that unless you mic up your tube amp.. Their go the neighbors.

I have been using IK's Amplitube and Poulin's Hybrit free vst amps lately. But the line-out on my Crate Limo TX50D sounds better.

S-Gear is my favourite go-to-plugin for guitar to keep the neighbours happy. Tons of usable presets, not just for lead... it's also pedal friendly.
