Cherry Audio has done it again. This is a hybrid emulation of the classic Yamaha GX-1 from 1975 and the smaller Yamaha CS-80 released in 1977. These are two classic synths whose unique sounds you hear on many major records and films from the late 70's to mid-80's, including Vangelis, Stevie Wonder and many others.
It looks very similar to the Arturia CS-80. https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/cs-80v
Yeah, I have the V Collection 7 from Arturia. It is amazing. You can get the latest version, V Collection 9, right now for $100 which is outrageously cheap. Somebody please check whether there is a catch in this offer! https://www.arturia.com/products/software-instruments/v-collection/overview EDIT: I think the $100 dollars is the price for an update, and that the full version is $300.
It's $200 for me. I think it is because I already have the CS-80. I just bought it. Thanks for letting me know it was on sale.
