I'm self conscious about this mix. I feel like I need to hide more with autotune. It sounds to me off key like flat in the beginning? I've been self conscious singing sometimes because of some people in real life. And some on Youtube or Facebook. I don't know if I'm singing on key. I don't want to be off key any! But tried something different to see if you can hear me without it being muddy.

If you aren't feeling confident about pitch try some ear training https://www.tonegym.co/ If this were my track I would just re-record the parts I feel iffy about. When in doubt, throw it out.

MammaRainbow I have done that but can always learn the rest of my life I guess. I just think I'm being too familiar with my own ears and just need an honest opinion. Is there a free one, I can't pay monthly for something! I just wanted to know if I was tone deaf or something!

The tonality of the voice constantly oscillates is a matter of musical learning. IMO it is above the key of the song, maybe a micron of key.

JeanLui Good to know if this is the problem with the recording itself!

It happens that the style of the song allows these oscillations and also the vocoder helps cover up vocal errors. With practice and a piano it can be solved, teaching the ear and the vocal cords to maintain the tone.

JeanLui I'll always warm up and been doing all of that! Every day. Maybe it's just that it isn't the right song for me.

Beautiful song. If you like I can try using software (Capo) to find out what key you are singing in.

Hi Canyon, Thanks unfortunately, the song wasn't flattering to my voice. And I moved on. But you can for the heck of it!

JeanLui I think I am better now that I'm finding my vocal range, power, strength and voice a bit more in exploring different types of Pop songs.

Sure Raven! You as a vocalist, you only have to take into account 2 things: Your style and your tonality. Any song must be composed to the key of the vocalist. Precisely for this reason, the songs are tailor-made for the vocalist and specially created for the vocalist. In a word: everything revolves around the vocalist, and that's the way it should be!

JeanLui How very true I wish I had known that before I worked with producers who still couldn't care because I couldn't sing it in the key and style they wanted.

I have several songs that need a vocalist (and lyricist), if you want to try ... As I have told you before, I can change the tonality at my will

JeanLui Right now I got so many ideas at the extreme rate the way I am going to finish my very first full length successful album. It may take another year or more but I got so many now I got to do. I've put so much energy and long daily in them. I could but it would have to be shareable and profitable to be commercial and the very best quality recording and work we do.

If you aren't hitting the notes correctly it could the wrong key for you. Don't be afraid to try different keys and find the one that fits the most.
