Hello lyricists! I'm looking for lyrics for this film music / classical inspired composition. Perhaps some fantasy/adventure story? Maybe someone has a forgotten gem in the archives? :) Thanks for your input! Cheers Jannik

Hello Jannik, I have only a draft for a lyrics. It's not ready yet, but maybe you or another friend of Kompoz might want to complete it. The movie is: "The Bridges of Madison County" Madson's Bridges Edson Castro I believe time will erase Because the tears dry on their own Four days to love Like on the Bridges to Madison Then a lifetime to forget At first freedom is welcome, It reveals the prison in which you live, But then open doors for a new prison When you have a husband, a dog and two children You better lie to yourself Four days to love "The old dreams were good," but like an old clothes no longer serve us anymore "The old dreams were good," but like an old clothes no longer serve us anymore I believe time will erase Because the tears dry on their own Four days to love Like on the Bridges to Madison Then a lifetime to forget "The old dreams were good," but like an old clothes no longer serve us anymore

I have this lyrics for a movie I watched with my teenage daughter. The name of the movie is: "Bridge to Terabithia" Before I say goodbye Lyrics by Edson Castro and Bonnie N. Nadine what's in between the castle and the rainbow, Talk about the dragonflies, All the grandiose surprise the enchanted kingdom we built long ago the wind in the tower we both came to know the soul in a dream From the rain and the sun of an innocent scheme I can't tell anymore I'm just not sure Of the clouds over ships in the sea Of our love binding you - binding me Before I say goodbye I'd like to ask you what happened to us? I want to do it all over again Put the needle on the record And let the spindle spin, I tried to go back but I got lost I tried to win no matter the cost WAIT Before I say goodbye the kingdom that existed Won't be forgotten this I know it will appear again - and so Before I say goodbye. To you and I - Before i say goodbye

Sorry, I remembered that for this letter I already have a project. It was the last project Mykk and I worked on together. And he didn't even record the vocals.

If he didn't use it then it's up for play.

He made the song and didn't record the vocals. https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/929466

But of course we can use it in another project if an interested singer comes along.

Hi, there's no problem using them if they were never recorded. Just take them out of the initial project. It's yours, you do what you want.

IMHO, don't take them out of the original project. I see absolutely nothing wrong with using the same lyrics for multiple projects. At one time, there were seven projects using my lyrics for "Wild River"

comment.user.userName

Maja   commented 1yr+3mo ago

That happened with you Joel once or twice because you had put up your lyrics in a project of yours with no music, and I found out after recording your lyrics that they were already used. I felt miserable, really I hate doing that. But it's your ownership, in the beginning, if you personnaly feel they can be used in several different songs, it's your choice, and no-one can contest that. I wouldn't personnaly, I really try to keep lyrics for one song, not many, but that's me.

I grew up in the middle of the folk song tradition where ownership of a song was loose and imperfect. It wasn't unusual to take someone elses work and use it and enhance it and appropriate it. Nowadays, that's called copyright infringement. It cost Katy Perry $5 million.

Makes me glad I don't have $5 million! :)

That's why I regret the time we used to hav a Creative Commons option here, but hush.

Maja I have often said how much I love your voice. The song "Les cafes de Paris" that you recorded on vocals was beautiful, very sensual.

Absolutely! There are great lyricists around here, and Joel just has his style, it's great, there was that song (another one of his!) that I did, I regret we nevre finished it (like approximately 50 others :D ) https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/784202 Credits to Teek and tracy Hutchinson as well.

I don't know Mike yet? Wow. That's strange. I can't find Joel's song, the one about hanging on a high wire (and that makes me sick), but I had forgotten this one. That was real fun. Never finished, as usual! : D https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/611800/files

ShannonB   commented 1yr+3mo ago

Not even in the archives. Wow, I don't think I've ever seen that before. How many files do you think are missing? Were you looking for the isolated vocals? How long do you keep your files and downloads before you delete them? It's time for me to go through my "extra versions of songs" and clean them out. :) But don't tell my husband I said that because I ignored him when he suggested cleaning up my desktop. I was in the middle of something! But then again, I always am. Cleaning is not a priority. :)

Maja   commented 1yr+3mo ago

I found it because I don't ever delete my conversations. :D I'm way far ahead my voice is too present but no-one ever finishes songs, and this one I would have loved to finish https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/841867/file/846619

That is a plague in here, and most probably in all other similar sites ... People/artists are fickle and like birds, they fly away if not entertained incessantly with advancement or progress of their song... I rather start a few and see them through than start a few dozens and never finish them. *Sigh*...

comment.user.userName PLUS

ShannonB   commented 1yr+3mo ago

Finished to me means a publisher has picked it up. Anybody here gotten that far? Because I am looking. :) Step 1: Make it sound good here Step 2: Share to my soundcloud Step 3: Make a youtube video I'm not asking for much. :)

I am a member of SOCAN for the management of my royalties; I am with ROBA for my publishing among others as I am also self-publishing certain titles myself i.e.: I made songs for bands and other artists who play in Canada. I receive my royalties twice a year. Would I stop my day job to live on this ? Not anymore :) I am here, though, for fun, not business. I am here to continue learning even though I've been in the music business since the age of 13 (now 56) I am mostly here to help others. I think it's exciting to be here in Montreal, create a solid chord progression and have a guy in Italy whip up a guitar lick, another in Australia doing the lead, a oldie like me that pumps some fine bassline in Texas, and then a young girl from Florida who's just starting sings like a pro and all this sounds great! Kompoz is all pleasure, no money involved :):):)

I heard my name ... LOL Edson, thank you for the mention - I am humbled! Though I do not consider myself as good as you, and do not have nearly enough time to collaborate here recently, I really do appreciate it! I hope to be more active here the rest of this year ... maybe I can finally collaborate with the great Maja even ;) Excellent lyrics by the way Edson :D

I'm a good lyricist. It's very frustrating that I'm not better. Though I try and try and try. On the other hand, anyone can get lucky and write a great song. /

Joel, you're more than a good lyricist, you're a reference. My great luck was finding this site and being embraced by this community. I would just be a frustrated poet and I can say that I am a happy man. I have dozens of lyrics in beautiful songs, people who agree to spread my words around the world. Songs like this: https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/938259 or this other: https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/918015 Just talking about the latest with vocals.

Wow Edson! These are both really great! :) I'm sending out an invite for vocals this evening - hopefully with a positive answer! Could you perhaps upload these lyrics to the collab? I always get the singer to do the final selection of lyrics as they have to be able to find a melody and convey the message in the lyrics convincingly :) Thanks for your help!

Hi Jannik, Just wanted to toss one more thing into the mix. I just uploaded some lyrics that I think would work well with your music, which I loved by the way. With all the recent mass shootings in the US, the music took me in that direction. I've pasted the lyric below, but also uploaded it separately. Hope you at least find it interesting. Best, Paul How Long, Lord? Oh my God ? he?s got a gun! [at 0:19] Voices scream, and hundreds run. But even as they turn away, Deadly bullets find their prey. A mother falls, her daughter cries, [at 0.45] A running man pulls up short and quickly tries To help the little girl, but sadly then The hateful rifle finds its mark again. The bodies tumble, a bloody scene, [at 1:11] Soon to appear on every TV screen, The news delivered in somber tones. We etch the names into fresh gravestones. Chorus How long, Lord, must we go on this way? [at 1:36] Why won?t you answer? Can?t you hear your people pray? [Here, insert a cacophony of names of individuals who [at 2:15 ? 3:18] have died in mass shootings. The names could be read out, or sung out, or could be a series of overlapping clips of newscasters naming shooting victims] Chorus How long, Lord, must we go on this way? [at 3:18] Why won?t you answer? Can?t you hear your people pray? How long, Lord, must we go on this way? Why won?t you answer? Can?t you hear your people pray?

Thank you Jannik, I will upload the files so someone can choose (or not, lol). It's good that the person singing will feel free to make changes to the lyrics to make them work, I don't care about changes.

comment.user.userName

Maja   commented 1yr+3mo ago

That's the way to go! Because vocalists praise the lyricists who fall right in their minds and everything fits, but most of the time changes must be made. Because when the lyricist write they have something in mind already. Either we catch it, or not at all.
