1. You do not need to ask before uploading.
New members often feel that it might be rude to upload an idea to another collaboration already in progress without first asking. Nothing could be further from the truth. Kompoz works when people jump in a submit ideas to other projects. Current members are hoping you and others will upload frequently.
2. The best way to get people to contribute to your collaboration is to contribute to their collaboration.
By helping out another user, chances are very good that the favor will be returned. In Social Psychology, the term is positive reciprocity. As a social construct, reciprocity means that in response to friendly actions, people are frequently much nicer and much more cooperative than predicted by the self-interest model. It's human nature.
3. Contribute to collaborations created by Plus, Premier, and PRO members.
Obviously, we want you to get involved in lots of collaborations. But if you're just starting out, you might want to spend your energy with paying members, simply because they are the most active and involved members. You'll get quick feedback and support. As you build up your collaboration experience, then branch off and explore the entire Kompoz community.
4. The musicians on Kompoz are incredibly helpful.
Got a question? Just ask the community. Kompoz members are very supportive and knowledgeable. It's actually in their best interest to be supportive of new users, because new users bring in fresh ideas, new talents, and new material. Post on the Community Page and User Groups, and get involved.
5. Just a few bars.
Need inspiration? Upload short ideas to get the process started. That's typically all it takes to get the creative juices flowing. It's like brainstorming applied to music. (So upload a few bars to a number of songs to give yourself lots of opportunity to meet other artists and collaborate.)
