Artist's Notes

A song inspired by my daily exercise walks, along the beach, during this current Corona Virus lockdown situation.

Lyrics

Sad, Sad Town. James Fraser 2020

I'm in a sad sad town

As I go out for my walk

There's not a soul around

No-one to stop and talk

I stroll beside the beach

And all I see is that man with his dog

Then coming round the corner

Are those two girls who are out for a jog.

This is not the only town

Where the streets are bare

Everywhere is in lockdown

Because of this virus scare

The only time we can leave our home

Is for vitals and for meds

And take our daily exercise

Just as long as we use our heads.

Oh, we are living through troubled times

where we cannot see the end

We got to stand together, but stay apart

If we're going to break the trend.

I hope my sad old town

Has not lost its heart and soul

I know its just a small corner of the world

But it feels like we've lost control

We don't know how long it's going to last

They don't know how they're going to put it right

And when all is said and done

Are they ever going to kill this blight.

Oh, we are living through troubled times

where we cannot see the end

We got to stand together, but stay apart

If we're going to break the trend.

Oh, we are living through troubled times

where we cannot see the end

We got to stand together, but stay apart

If we're going to break the trend.
