WHO SAID A FAIRYTALE WAS FAIR

1ST:

When she was little

She used to lie in the grass and dream

She used to watch the clouds in the sky

She watched them closely

Compared their shapes and imagined how

They?d talk to her as they hovered by

PRE-CHORUS:

And she was hopeful and she told herself:

?A knight in armour will arrive

He?s riding down the milky way

And when he?s here someday, he?ll stay

And be the centre of my life!?

CHORUS:

You better live your fairytale

Before its colors turn too pale

You better live your dream

As long as you?re asleep!

And on the day your last wish dies

You tell yourself some shallow lies

 ?cause you could not admit

The bruises go too deep

2ND:

Then she grew older

She went to school and she learned to read

And she was told why those clouds exist

She watched the rainbows

And braided bands with her little hands

She wore them all on her fragile wrist

PRE-CHORUS:

She still was hopeful and she told herself:

?A knight in armour will arrive!

Right now the sky is maybe gray

But he?ll be here someday and stay

And bring a rainbow to my life!?

CHORUS:

You better live your fairytale

Before its colors turn too pale

You better live your dream

As long as you?re asleep!

And on the day your last wish dies

You tell yourself some shallow lies

?cause you could not admit

The bruises go too deep

 3RD:

She graduated

A whole new life right in front of her

A life she?d face on her very own

People were happy

They celebrated her great success

And deep inside she felt so alone

PRE-CHORUS:

Not quite so hopeful she said to herself:

?A knight in armour will arrive

Maybe he?s lonely on his way

But someday he?ll be here and stay

And soon I will become his wife?

CHORUS:

You better live your fairytale

Before its colors turn too pale

You better live your dream

As long as you?re asleep!

And on the day your last wish dies

You tell yourself some shallow lies

?cause you could not admit

the bruises go too deep

SOLO

4TH:

She has a job now

She spends her nights in a little flat

She earns enough to live on her own

Her friends are jealous

They want to be just as free as her

They cannot see that she?s so alone

PRE-CHORUS:

She?s lost her hope and now she tells herself:

?I?ll never let them see me cry

My knight has dragons still to slay

He?ll maybe cross my way someday

and rip the clouds out of the sky?

CHORUS:

You better live your fairytale

Before its colors turn too pale

You better live your dream

As long as you?re asleep!

And on the day your last wish dies

You tell yourself some shallow lies

?cause you could not admit

The bruises go too deep

CHORUS 2:

Who said a fairytale was fair?

We all have dreams we never share

That?s why they vanish long

before the break of dawn

There is this simple trick to life:

Just share your dreams and they?ll survive!

But if you don?t, I promise

someday they?ll be gone
