Artist's Notes

This is a song about my guitar.

I always wanted a nice guitar.   After my mother passed away, last year, I decided to use her life insurance money to buy myself a used Taylor Guitar to keep as a lasting memory of her.

Lyrics

American Beauty

By Brent Godfrey   ©   2018

American Beauty   I just want to take her into my arms and play

Glossy backed six string she makes my heart sing flower and bird inlays

I have been looking oh so long for the right one to come along

I picked them up and put em down played the field and fooled around

I never thought I?d find her the right one to call my own

When I hold her in my arms I?m never on stage alone

Her voice is so sweet She calls out to me every night and day

Come on boy, pick me up, strum my strings and play

Instrumental Choruse

A Taylor made beautyAmerican madeNeck so fine and straight

Fretting so easy Built just to please me  At any time or place

Chorus

Renowned for her Beauty And for the sound of her resonating voice

When I hold her in my arms I know I made the right choice

Chorus

EndingAn American Beauty I just want to take her into my arms and play
